Acadia Hospital Receives $250,000

It was a day of celebration at Acadia Hospital in Bangor Thursday.

The facility has been providing mental health care and sustance abuse treatment for 15 years now.

Every year, the staff throws a barbecue to show their appreciation for all the hard work put in by the staff.

At the cookout, the hospital received a $250,000 check from Affiliated Healthcare Systems.

Dottie Hill, CEO of Acadia Hospital, says the money will be used towards thier capital improvement campaign of $2 million.

The hospital hopes to renovate the children’s unit. They plan to add more individual rooms. The funds will also help augment some narcotic treatment programs as well as the hospital’s homeless shelter.
