The family of Harrison Damon wants to know if the remains belong to their loved one. Witnesses reported seeing Damon falling from the Penobscot Narrows bridge in March. Rescue crews searched the river for about a week after the teen’s disappearance, but he was never found.
A family visiting Moose Point State Park made the grisly discovery on Sunday. A sneaker, with the remains of a human foot inside, was found on private property near the park, in a tidal pool.
Waldo county authorities sent the sneaker to the Medical Examiner’s office in Augusta, for DNA identification. Sheriff Scott Story says investigators believe the remains belong to Harrison Damon.
