A group of anti-war demonstrators spent Sunday in Senator Susan Collins’ Bangor neighborhood…urging residents to put ":end the war": signs on their lawns.
The group ":Americans Against Escalation in Iraq": headed up the effort. Members went door to door in the Senator’s neighborhood, asking residents to post anti-war signs on their lawns, to send a message to Collins, who is currently on vacation.
The protestors say they’re angry that Collins continues to oppose legislation to end the war. Members of ":Americans Against Escalation in Iraq": are nearing the end of their 10-week summer program.
They’ve sponsored various anti-war activities throughout the state.
They will culminate with a town-hall style meeting at the University of Maine on August 28th.
