Anti-War Group Targets Collins’ Home

A group of anti-war demonstrators spent Sunday in Senator Susan Collins’ Bangor neighborhood…urging residents to put &quot:end the war&quot: signs on their lawns.

The group &quot:Americans Against Escalation in Iraq&quot: headed up the effort. Members went door to door in the Senator’s neighborhood, asking residents to post anti-war signs on their lawns, to send a message to Collins, who is currently on vacation.

The protestors say they’re angry that Collins continues to oppose legislation to end the war. Members of &quot:Americans Against Escalation in Iraq&quot: are nearing the end of their 10-week summer program.

They’ve sponsored various anti-war activities throughout the state.
They will culminate with a town-hall style meeting at the University of Maine on August 28th.
