FAA officials are investigating the cause of a plane crash that killed a pilot Saturday.
It happened on Kezar Lake in Lovell around 10 a.m.
The Cessna 206 was carrying three adults and two children.
The pilot was attempting to land the plane on the lake when it flipped onto its side and was submerged.
Rescuers helped the survivors get out of the plane…but the pilot was trapped inside…and died.
He is identified as 69-year-old Joe Solari of Fryeburg…he was a former town selectman and longtime manager of Eastern Slopes Regional Airport.
The four passengers…Kevin and Beth Lamberson of North Yarmouth…and their children…5-year-old Lauren and 3-year-old Kyle, were taken to the hospital.
The five-year-old was most seriously injured…witnesses say she was trapped in the plane before her mother dove underwater and freed her.
At last check, the girl was in fair condition at Maine Medical Center.
