A 12-year-old boy was fatally injured when the A-T-V he was riding with a family member in the central Maine town of Leeds flipped over, pinning him beneath the machine.
Authorities say alcohol was believed to have been a factor in the crash that took the life of Dillan Shink of Wilton.
Shink was pronounced deadFriday night at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
The Maine Warden Service said Shink was riding on the all-terrain vehicle with his uncle, 27-year-old Eric Wetherell of Lewiston, who escaped serious injury.
Warden Service spokesman Mark Latti said Wetherell was arrested after the crash and was being held in the Androscoggin County Jail on an outstanding warrant for failing to show up for sentencing on a drunken driving charge.
Latti said a blood-alcohol test was taken after the accident in the woods off the Plains Road, but the results were not yet available.
