The Agriculture Department says it won’t be a record harvest but should be better than average.
The department predicts 66-million pounds of blueberries will be harvested this year.
The crop has averaged 65-million pounds over the past five years. Last year’s crop was 74-million.
David Bell of the Maine Wild Blueberry Commission says as always weather will have its say as the bulk of the crop ripens over the next few weeks.
