Residents will decide what will happen to over $100,000 in estimated revenue. Voters will be asked whether they want to keep with the practice of using the funds for the department it was designated for, or whether that money should be set aside in a general fund instead.
At stake are the operations of several major departments, including the fire department, the sanitation department, and, most notably, the police department.
Milo town manager Jane Jones says she hopes the citizens of Milo will attend this special meeting, and educate themselves on the issue.
Those in favor for putting the money back into the departments say that without it, the departments will suffer.
Opponents of the current procedure cite increased spending by some departments as the reason for the vote.
