WABI – A Bangor man who spent nearly three years on the run will now spend almost 10 years in prison. Prosecutors say James W. Raye (37) lied about his criminal past when trying to buy a shotgun at a pawn shop.
Raye has been convicted of heroin trafficking, aggravated assault, and domestic assault in the past. On the gun application, he said he had never been convicted of a felony or domestic assault.
Raye pleaded guilty when he was convicted of those crimes in 2004, but he never showed up to his sentencing hearing. He was finally arrested last March.
