Cellular Company Bought Out

Verizon will pay 757 million dollars for Rural Cellular, which operates in Maine under the Unicel brand.

Verizon is the nation’s second largest wireless provider behind AT&amp:T.

Unicel operates in Maine and four other New England states.

Its parent company Rural Cellular provides cell phone service in a total of fifteen states.

The deal comes one month after AT&amp:T agreed to buy rural wireless service provider Dobson Communications.
