Cancer patients in central Maine now have access to state of the art technology…at the new Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care.
A grand opening celebration was held at the center in Augusta on Saturday.
It’s operated by Maine General Health.
The center will provide outpatient cancer treatment for up to 160 people a day…with the most up-to-date imaging, chemotherapy and radiation services.
Local philanthropist Harold Alfond donated seven million dollars towards the construction of the center.
Maine General Health President Scott Bullock says cancer patients in central Maine deserve this level of care.
