American Eagle Flies Away

The company says it will stop operating at Bangor International Airport and close the aircraft maintenance base there in November.

Nearly 80 people work locally for American Eagle. The company says it will offer to relocate them.

Right now, American Eagle flies four weekly flights out of Bangor: three to Boston, one to New York City.

The news came one day before BIA’s director says she will announce a new airline set to serve the local market.
