Governor Mourns Soldier’s Death in Iraq 

Another soldier with ties to Maine has died in Iraq. Governor John Baldacci said Monday that Private First Class Jason Dore died Sunday from wounds inflicted by an improvised explosive device. Baldacci says he has expressed his condolences to Dore’s parents, who live in Moscow .

Flags will be ordered flown at half-staff on the day of Dore’s funeral.

He’s the third Maine soldier killed in Iraq in a month, and the second from the First Cavalry Division, based at Fort Hood, Texas. Another soldier from the First Cavalry, Sergeant Joel House of Lee , died from injuries on June 23rd. He, too, was killed by a roadside bomb.
