Ellsworth Woman Sentenced
(AP) – Dorothy Cook pleaded guilty to manslaughter back in March. She has now been sentenced in Hancock County Superior Court to 12 years in jail, with all but four years suspended.
In March of 2006, Cook rear-ended a car driven by Benedict ":Benny": Starbuck of Ellsworth,who died at a hospital a few hours after the accident.
According to court documents, Cook was driving faster than 70 miles per hour at the time of the crash. Her blood alcohol content was 0.30, nearly four times the legal limit.
