Kariya to test free agency

Predators forward Paul Kariya
(kah-REE’-ah) plans to enter free agency. Predators general manager
David Poile says Kariya decided to become a free agent because the
Predators are up for sale and the team’s future is uncertain.
Kariya led the team in scoring for the last two seasons, with 85
points two years ago and 76 points the last season.
Owner Craig Leipold has been trying to sell the Predators for
220 (m) million to Canadian (b) billionaire Jim Balsillie, who may
move the team to Hamilton, Ontario. However, the National Post in
Canada reports that Leipold is looking at a second bidder, San
Jose, California-based venture capitalist William &quot:Boots&quot: Del
Biaggio the Third. He would reportedly favor moving the team to
Kansas City.
