Crackdown on Speeding

(WABI)- Chief Pilot Wayne Ireland reports that 497 tickets were issued during the three-week period from May 13th to June First. Typically the plane will spot a speeder from the air and contact a trooper on the ground to make the stop.

Despite the crackdown, some motorists aren’t getting the message.

State police stopped three drivers for exceeding 100 miles per hour in the past week. Those included a mother with two children in the backseat, as well as a motorist who was arrested for drunken driving in Bowdoinham.
