The Senate followed suit with House members, passing the 6.3 million dollar measure Wednesday night. The final vote was 28-to-7.
One of the most controversial parts of the bill is a proposal to consolidate Maine’s education system.
Supporters say it will save millions of dollars, but some lawmakers were still unsure about the idea.
In the end, the budget received more than the 2/3 majority of support needed to make the bill a law as soon as the Governor signs it.
