Maine State Police say excessive speed was a factor in a crash that killed two teenagers and injured a third early Saturday morning in Lyman.
Troopers say Timothy Gagne Junior and Daryn Petrin, both 18 and from Arundel, were killed when their car crashed at three in the morning, careened down an embankment and landed on its roof.
Police say Gagne, who was the driver, and Petrin were thrown from the vehicle. Seventeen-year-old Bryan Bell of Biddeford, who was sitting in the back seat, was wearing a seat belt and is at Maine Medical Center in Portland with non-life-threatening injuries.
Blood alcohol tests will be conducted on the two victims, and troopers are looking to talk with anyone who saw the teenagers before the crash.
