Third Motorcycle Accident Over Holiday Weekend

A driver pulling out of Gould Street in Old Town Monday struck a motorcycle that was heading down the Bennoch Road, throwing the bike’s rider about 20 feet.

The biker was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center.

The driver of the car was checked at the scene, and didn’t have any injuries.

Police don’t believe that the biker’s injuries are life-threatening, but say he’s fortunate that his injuries aren’t a lot worse, as they point out he wasn’t wearing a helmet.

They’re urging all drivers to be on the lookout for motorcycles on the road.

Two other bikers were killed in accidents across Maine since Friday night.
