The Portland Pirates’ coach spent part of the Memorial Day weekend in the Cumberland County Jail. Kevin Dineen reported to jail Sunday to serve a 48-hour sentence on a driving to endanger conviction. Dineen was arrested for drunken driving last June in South Portland following an end-of-season party after being eliminated from the playoffs in his first season as coach of Portland’s American Hockey League franchise.
Sheriff Mark Dion tells the Portland Press Herald that that Dineen ended up pleading guilty to a charge of driving to endanger.
He was fined 750 dollars in addition to being sentenced to two days of jail.
