So far, it’s won ten architectural awards…now, it’s finally ready for its close-up.
The observatory on top of the new Penobscot Narrows Bridge officially opened its doors Saturday.
The Department of Transportation distributed a thousand free passes for folks to check out the view from the top.
Despite the rain, plenty of ticket holders, armed with cameras and umbrellas, arrived to take in the sights.
Many of the engineers and architects who made the bridge and observatory a reality were also on hand for the celebration.
