Folks eager to check out the view from the new Penobscot Narrows Observatory lined up bright and early Saturday morning for free tickets.
Chambers of Commerce in six locations distributed a thousand free passes this morning for the Observatory’s opening weekend, may 19th and 20th.
Each pass is good for a specific 15-minute period on either Saturday or Sunday.
Officials with the Department of Transportation say they expect the free passes will result in a sold out weekend, so if you haven’t gotten a pass, you shouldn’t expect access to the Observatory on opening weekend.
Those who do have passes will be making history when they get to witness the spectacular view…on a clear day, you’ll be able to see 100 miles.
