Restaurant Owner Dies

Paul Gervais died of cancer at his home in Brewer on Monday.

Gervais worked in the restaurant business for nearly 40 years. He began as assistant manager of the former 95er Restaurant and Service Center, eventually buying the facility and renamed it Paul’s.

Paul’s Restaurant and Speakeasy remained open for 29 years until 2004, when a muscular disease forced Gervais to retire, and close the restaurant.

Mr. Gervais also built what is now the City Park Grille in Old Town.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 3rd, in Bangor.

Paul Gervais was 64 years old.
