Maine House republicans gathered in Augusta today to choose a nominee to fill the seat vacated by Abby Holman earlier this month.
Holman was killed in a skiing accident at Sugarloaf…she was a freshman legislator from Fayette, in House district 83.
Saturday, Holman’s fellow republicans chose Penny Morrell of Belgrade as their nominee for Holman’s seat.
Morrell competed against three others for the nomination…she says she’s eager to continue the work that Abby Holman started.
Sunday, the democrats will caucus and select their nominee for the seat.
A special election to fill the seat will be held June 12th.
