The chairman of the Maine Republican Party is stepping down after only four months on the job.
Joe Bruno of Raymond says he just can’t make the time to get the job done…he says it’s essentially a full-time volunteer position.
GOP vice chairman Mark Ellis of Augusta will take Bruno’s place.
This will be Ellis’ second stint as party chairman.
He was elected vice chairman in 2004 and was elevated to the top job a year later
when Randy Bumps was named to a post with the Republican National Committee.
