Holman Death Investigation

Police in Carrabassett Valley

(Maine) say the investigation into last week’s death of State

Representative Abby Holman in a ski accident at Sugarloaf U-S-A

should be completed in a matter of days.

The state Medical Examiner’s Office concluded that Holman died

of a blunt-impact chest injury. The accident occurred as the

45-year-old Fayette woman crossed the finish line in a charity race

on a short slalom course.

Police Chief Ronald Moody says investigators are still trying to

track down some witnesses. But at this point, he says it appears

that Holman may have lost her balance or caught the edge of her

ski. The resort said Holman, an experienced skier, hit a tree at

the edge of the trail.
