(WABI) – Dealers say it’s not uncommon for prices to go up in the spring but these are the highest they have been since 1992
The weather and a small catch has kept many lobstermen from starting their season.
Dealers say pounds that store them long term are almost depleted.
Lobstermen are getting between $10.50-$12.00 a pound.
That translates to even higher prices for consumers.
Lobstermen up and down the coast say they aren’t catching enough lobsters to make a lot of money despite the high prices.
Once more lobsters are being landed, fishermen and dealers expect the prices will go down.
