(WABI) – The plates would support breast cancer services.
The proposed plates were unveiled Thursday at the state house in Augusta.
Representative Strang Burgess wants to create the special pink-shaded plate, with a ribbon over a map of Maine.
Money raised from sales would help three cancer-related groups: the Maine Breast Cancer Coalition, Cancer Foundation, and the Maine Breast and Cervical Health Program.
In order for the bill to move forward, supporters need to get 2,000 people to reserve a plate for their car.
