Kravings’ John Brown Stew 


1 small onion, diced

1 lb. hamburger

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 medium potatoes, cubed small

6 cups water

2 tablespoons beef base or beef bouillon

1 14oz. can diced tomatoes

1 small can of condensed tomato soup

1 cup frozen peas or frozen vegetables of your choice


In frying pan, saut onion in olive oil until soft. Add hamburger, cook until done then drain excess fat. In a stock pot, add potatoes, water, beef base or beef bouillon and cook until potatoes are done. Add hamburger and onion into stock pot. Add tomatoes, tomato soup and peas. Heat and serve. Enjoy!
