(WABI) – Police say alcohol and speed were factors in a car crash that killed a man from Addison Sunday morning.
It happened just after 3 a-m on route 187 in Jonesport.
Washington County sheriff’s deputies say the vehicle was heading south when it left the road and hit several trees.
The two men inside were trapped in the vehicle.
Twenty-six-year-old Joseph Bazylak was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man in the car, twenty-eight-year-old James Robinson Junior, was taken to EMMC in Bangor and islisted in serious condition.
It took emergency responders close to two hours to remove the men from the car.
Police are not yet saying which man was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
The investigation is underway.
