(WABI) – Close to 500 peace activists joined hands in Bangor Sunday to send a message to Washington.
The Peace and Justice Center of Eastern Maine coordinated a rally today at Paul Bunyan park to commemorate a somber anniversary.
Monday marks four years since the start of the war in Iraq.
The activists rallied against the war, then formed a human peace sign.
After that, they held hands and formed a ":chain of concern": that stretched from the Bangor auditorium all the way to Shaw’s market.
The protestors say it was their way of letting the Bush administration, and the world, know that they want an end to the war.
