(WABI) – The Maine Warden Service says Richard Jenkins of Levant was one of two men in the canoe that capsized early December 24th.
On Tuesday, Service members found a body, which they believe is the 36-year-old man’s remains, at a grate in the dam in Milford.
The other canoeist on that fateful night, 36-year-old Richard Holmes, made it to shore and called for help.
The two men were crossing the Penobscot River when their canoe overturned.
Divers searched for Jenkins after the accident, but suspended their search because of dangerous conditions in the river.
