(WABI) – It happened at the tail waggin’ training center in Levant.
Staffers there train service dogs for the handicapped.
The labs, named ":Dash": and ":Nara": broke through a fence Friday morning. The center’s owners, along with neighbors and friends, searched all day and night, with no luck.
Saturday morning, Dirigo Search and Rescue joined the effort.
Fortunately, a call came in shortly after that from a man in Sangerville who’d found the dogs and seen their photos on the news.
The owners of the training center say it was a huge relief to get the pups back where they belonged.
":Nara,": the black lab puppy, was recently promised to a wheelchair-bound teen in Holden.
Center owner Lynn Boulieau says she’s relieved that she’ll still be able to deliver the puppy as promised, now that she’s home safe and sound.
