(WABI) – A jury couldn’t be found during Monday’s selection process for 2 people facing rape charges.
49 year old Peter Mills of Southwest Harbor is charged with 22 counts including gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.
45 year old Stephanie Stark of Hancock is facing 12 counts.
They are accused of rapingthree women in Bar Harbor and Surry in June of 2005.
District Attorney Michael Povich says it’s very unusual to not be able to seat a jury.
Mills and Stark were scheduled to go on trial later this month.
Povich says they can either bring in more jurors and try again or the case can be moved to another county.
He says a decision should be made within a week.
