A 66-year-old woman who was trapped in her partially-submerged car for four hours Friday has died.
Police say Jeannine Morin lost control of her car on the slippery streets and crashed into an icy canal in Lewiston. She was trapped in her car until a passerby spotted her and called for help.
Officials say the ice kept the vehicle from sinking into the canal which is about 12-feet deep.
By the time rescue crews arrived, Morin was conscious but not responsive.
