Police in San Diego, California, have named a suspect in the shooting death of a former Maine man whose dismembered body parts were found scattered around the city.
Sixty-one-year-old Gerald Michael Nash is being sought in the slaying of 57-year-old Allen Burton Hawes. Hawes, who has family in Newport, Maine, is believed to have been shot to death sometime between Friday and Monday. His torso was found in a river tributatory and his head and hands were found miles apart along Interstate Five.
An autopsy showed that he had been shot to death before being dismembered. Police say the two men were acquainted, but a motive for the killing is unknown.
