Lawmakers have decided not to ban the mind-altering drug Salvia Divinorum, however, they have restricted the hallucinogen which is found in the plant.
Representative Chris Barstow is the sponsor of the original bill to prohibit the use of the herb all-together.
Barstow says the compromise is an important step in the right direction, and will allow people to learn more about the drugs effect.
The bill will now go to the house and senate for a vote.
Several other states have already banned the use of Salvia.
