A Carmel boy is up for a very prestigious honor…the title of sports ambassador. President Eisenhower started the program back in the 1950s.
12-year-old Dakota Pyles was born two months premature, and is one of the smallest kids on his soccer team. But even a recent injury hasn’t kept him down.
That’s why he was nominated to be a sports ambassador. Now comes the next hurdle: raising the $6,000 he needs to travel to Austria to talk about his experiences.
Dakota’s grandmother gave him an idea to raise money himself. The family works everyday on special pins designed to hold glasses.
If you want to help Dakota out, you can find the pins in stores around carmel.
