The University of Maine women beat the
University of Maryland-Baltimore County 74-66 on the road
Wednesday afternoon, lifting their record to 10-8 and 4-3 in America
East. Bracey Barker led Maine with 15 points, and Ashley Underwood
netted 14 for the Black Bears. That also put both
players over the 1,000-point mark for their careers.
Maine’s second win in a row was also its third road win this
season, which tops last season’s total of two road victories.
U-M-B-C fell 10-10 and 3-4 in the league.
The Maine women return to action on Saturday when they play host
to defending America East champion Hartford at Alfond Arena.
Tonight (at 7), the Maine men play Stony Brook in New York.
