Lamoine School Vote

Town officials say it was record turnout for Tuesday’s vote, where residents were asked whether they wanted to provide the area with an interest free $600,000 state grant for renovations at the school.

The majority said yes, approving with a vote of 582 to 185.

Residents shot down the other referendum up for the vote, asking if they wanted to borrow nearly 3-million dollars to build an addition onto the school. The final tally for that question was close…420 against, 348 in favor.
