1 20 lb. turkey
4-5 stalks celery, coarsely chopped
3-4 carrots, coarsely chopped
3-4 sprigs fresh sage
4-5 cloves garlic, chopped or whole
1 onion, coarsely chopped
salt and pepper
Preheat oven to 350.
Remove giblets, gizzards and neck from turkey. Rinse thoroughly under cold water.
Rinse and cut vegetables and place in cavity of turkey. Rub entire outside of turkey with butter, salt and pepper. Sprinkle with poultry seasoning.
Place in roasting pan and add cup water.
Cover turkey with lid or aluminum foil. Bake in pre-heated oven at 350 for 3 -4 hours or until turkey reaches a thigh temperature of 180. Remove foil for the last 45 minutes to allow for even browning.
