IN 1964 A GROUP OF KIDS TRIED TO START A FOOTBALL TEAM AT MT. VIEW HIGH SCHOOL IN THORNDIKE. IT DIDN’T WORK OUT…. 43 YEARS LATER MT. VIEW FINALLYHAS A VARSITY FOOTBALL TEAM….. THE FIRST VARSITY TEAM IN SCHOOL HISTORY.

THE MAINE PRINCIPALS ASSOCIATION ACCEPTED THE MUSTANGS INTO THE CLASS ‘C’ LITTLE 10 CONFERENCE.

MT. VIEW HAS HAD A DEVELOPMENT TEAM THE LAST FOUR YEARS. THE LAST THREE SEASONS THEY’VE PLAYED 18 GAMES IN THE MOOSEHEAD TRAIL LEAGUE.

THERE WERE 35 KIDS AT THE SCHOOL PLAYING FOOTBALL LAST FALL, COACH RON SIMMONS EXPECTS MORE OUT THIS YEAR AS THEY PLAY THEIR FIRST VARSITY GAMES.

MT. VIEW WILL PLAY GAMES AT THE FAIRGROUNDS IN BROOKS THIS FALL.

AND SIMMONS EXPECTS TO BE THE COACH WHEN THE TEAM HITS THE FIELD THIS FALL.
