Investigators are still trying to find the cause of a deadly accident in Bangor. Just after 10 a.m. Wednesday morning, two vehicles collided on outer Hammond St., near the intersection with Doane St. One man was killed and another was badly injured.
Police say it all started when a van driven by 59-year old Dana Perkins of Glenburndrifted into oncoming traffic.Perkins was rushed to the hospital, but he could not be saved. He was pronounced dead shortly after he arrived.
The driver of the other car, 54-year old John Thibodeau of Rockland, was also taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center. He is being treated for serious, but not-life threatenign injuries.
An accident reconstruction team was called in to determine why it happened. An autopsy will also be conducted on Mr. Perkins to see if it can provide some clues.
