Murder Appeal

Maine’s highest court heard the appeal of a Rockport man convicted of murder Tuesday.

David Haraden is serving a 52-year sentence for the beating death of his girlfriend at a Portland hotel.

Haraden was convicted of murder in December 2005 in the death of Maxine Witham.

Haraden has maintained his innocence, saying he wasn’t responsible for Witham’s death in January 2005.

She died in a room the Eastland Park Hotel where the couple was staying on their way back to Rockport from Massachusetts.
