Sweeney blamed but Bonds apologizes 

FORMER UMAINE BASEBALL PLAYER MARK SWEENEY GOT THE APOLOGY HE HOPED WAS COMING. IN A REPORT FROM THE NEW YORK DAILY NEWS, BARRY BONDS TESTED POSITIVE FOR AMPHETIMINES. BONDS SAID HE GOT THOSE AMPHETIMINES FROM SWEENEY’S LOCKER.

THURSDAY NIGHT SWEENEY WAS EXHONERATED WHEN BARRY BONDS ISSUED A STATEMENT APOLOGIZING TO SWEENEY AND HIS FAMILY. BONDS HOWEVER DID NOT FULLY DENY THE NEWS REPORT THAT HE DID TEST POSITIVE FOR AMPHETIMINES.

SWEENEY HAS PLAYED 1,014 CAREER GAMES, HE’S A LIFETIME 260 HITTER WITH 40 HOMERUNS AND 232 RUNS BATTED IN.
