The man accused of killing a 13 year old boy from Palmyra back in November will stay in jail. Today, a judge denied bail to 39 year old Todd Curry.
Curry’s lawyer then asked the judge to move him to a jail closer to his family and counsel. He is currently being held at the Maine State Prison in Warren.
Judge Joseph Jabar says curry has to be kept at a maximum security facility like the one he’s in, but it would be up to prison officials whether he could be transferred closer to home.
A mental evaluation was ordered to determine whether Curry is competent to stand trial. Should Curry be found incompetent he would likely go to riverview psychiatric center in Augusta.
Todd Curry will return to court pending the evaluation results.
