Fire crews were busy throughout Maine last night, putting out three separate house fires around the state.
Thefirst call came in at around 9 pm in st. George. Where neighbors on theRidge Road reported a home on fire. When crews arrived, flames hadalready spread from the house to some nearby trees. No one was home atthe time.
Area fire crews had the blaze out in about an hour, but the home was destroyed. There’s no word yet on a cause.
Aboutan hour later, fire fighters from three towns were called to theCharleston Road in Dexter. Officials say the fire crews were able tocontain the flames in about an hour.
The fire apparently startedin the chimney and quickly spread to the roof. There has been no wordyet if anyone was home at the time.
In New Vineyard, one personwas able to escape from his home after it went up in flames at around11pm Tuesday night. Crews from five surrounding towns fought the flamesfor several hours.There has been no word yet on a cause for that fireeither.
